The name of this church shall be Abide Church, located in Chelsea, Alabama.
Article II – Purpose
The purpose of this church is to glorify God by abiding in Christ, making disciples, equipping believers, and engaging the community with the gospel.
Article III – Statement of Faith
This church shall hold and teach the doctrines set forth in the Statement of Faith.
Article IV – Membership
1. Qualifications: Personal profession of faith, baptism, agreement with Statement of Faith.
2. Reception: Approved by elders following a membership process.
3. Responsibilities: Attendance, prayer, giving, service, submission to Scripture.
4. Discipline: Loving correction per Matthew 18:15–17.
Article V – Leadership
1. Elders: Qualified per 1 Tim 3, Titus 1; duties include oversight of teaching, vision, shepherding.
2. Deacons: Qualified per 1 Tim 3:8–13; duties include service in practical ministries.
3. Pastor: The Lead Pastor shall be an elder, responsible for preaching, teaching, and shepherding.
Article VI – Church Government
The government of this church shall be elder-led, congregationally affirmed. Members affirm decisions regarding elders, deacons, budgets, and major matters.
Article VII – Meetings
Worship Services: Weekly. Business Meetings: Annual congregational meeting and special meetings as needed
Article VIII – Finances
The church shall be supported by tithes, offerings, and gifts. Financial accountability shall be maintained by treasurer and overseen by elders.
Article IX – Amendments
Constitution & Bylaws may be amended by 2/3 vote of members present at a duly called meeting, with 30 days’ notice.
Article X – Dissolution
In the event of dissolution, assets shall be distributed to ministries consistent with the Statement of Faith.
